Denver Colorado Small Urban Wedding
Jenny and Paige’s wedding took place on one of those typical gorgeously sunny Denver days–in March! Having only been to Colorado once in my life, I really didn’t know what to expect. In my mind, I thought we’d potentially be battling a blizzard and the ground would be covered in snow. I’m from California and my only real snowy experience was either living in Boston where legit snow storms would shut the streets down for what felt like forever or “going to the snow” aka Yosemite or the Sierra Nevadas growing up.
Little did I know, Downtown Denver was 1. warmer than where I live in San Francisco and 2. the snow doesn’t usually stick around for long. Lesson learned and I’m so glad it was so nice out. I honestly was almost too hot on the day of. The last time I was in Colorado I skipped downtown altogether and hung out in the mountains near Vail. The mountains are of course super gorgeous, but the city totally won me over!
Jenny and Paige picked the best spot near Five Points in a little restaurant bar called The Lobby, https://thelobbydenver.com/. It was perfect for their small-ish elopement with just close family and friends circled around the cool staircase that sits in the middle of the restaurant. One of my favorite things about the restaurant was that at any spot in the restaurant you could see the different stations of activity around.
With their family and best friends standing around, Jenny and Paige said the most beautiful and personally written vows as Jenny’s friend, Kris officiated. Jenny and Paige currently live in Georgia, where they’ve both been transplanted, but they decided to have an elopement in a state that neither of them are from, because, why not??! I’m all for destination weddings and love to be part of them. Family and friends flew or drove in from all over to hang out with the brides for a super fun few days. They even got me to sing my first EVER karaoke song the night before the wedding at their joint bachelorette party!
Fingers crossed there is no video evidence of such…
The wedding was perfectly simple, elegant, and fun just like the two of them are! One of my absolute favorite parts of the wedding activities was doing a day after wedding session with them as well! I can’t wait to show you all the absolute adorable pics we got while exploring the city the next day with the two newlyweds. I’ll share in a separate post. <3 Norms are meant to be broken and I’m so happy I got to enjoy it with the two of them. Happy one month of marriage, Jenny and Paige!
Below are a few of my favorite images from the day! Enjoy.
