I’m Melissa and I’m the type of person who both acts completely spontaneously, yet also over-prepares to the level that it’s probably completely overkill. Better safe than sorry, right? Well, that’s sort of how my photography career / journey happened. All I ever wanted to be was a photographer, but I guess I felt like I had to do all of the other things first and live in all sorts of places while I was at it. I made it back to my dream and honestly couldn’t be happier. And, while I’ve now done that, I’ve learned some cool and very useful stuff along the way as a tech startup business operations guru in San Francisco, horseback trainer in Up-State New York, and major wanna-be van-lifer / backpacker all up and down California (with stints in San Diego and Orange County). I’ve done a lot of things, yet this is where I am meant to be. I’m at home in the mountains, by the ocean in a random surf stay in Bali, or in my studio shooting badass beautiful ladies for boudoir. It might be slightly unconventional, but I truly find the beauty in the interesting life and career I’ve had. I can’t wait to explore more, do more, and photograph even more beauty in its many, many forms.
Go places you've never been, do things you've never done, and simply, live unapologetically in the way that only you know how. Elope even when your family pushes for a big wedding, travel even if you're nervous, express yourself in new ways that you never considered before. Most of all, be you.
